— Once arriving home, remove the bandage that your artist has applied.
— Clean the tattoo with ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP and warm water. Remove any ointment residue, then allow to air dry.
— Apply a VERY THIN LAYER of ointment to the entire tattooed area. We recommend using Hustle Butter for the best results, but a triple antibiotic ointment or Aquaphor work as well. (Do not use any sort of petroleum-based ointments other than the ones listed here, despite what others may suggest.)
—Wash, air dry and apply a new layer of ointment 3 to 4 times a day, for the first 3 days. Be sure the tattoo is always coated in a thin layer and isn’t allowed to dry out.
— On day 4, you should stop using ointment and start applying a SCENTLESS & COLORLESS LOTION. Lubriderm, Aveeno, Curel and other sensitive skin lotions work well.
— Apply a thin layer of lotion 3 to 6 times a day for the next 4 weeks. The better hydrated the area is, the better it heals. Make sure each application is always a THIN layer.
—Your tattoo may peel and flake while healing. DO NOT PICK AT IT!
